Manong Bart's Big 60

P8070727Last weekend was Manong Bart's 60th birthday and a surprise party was organised by Manang May.  It was a very special occasion where family and friends surrounded the birthday celebrant, and food and drinks were aplenty.  And of course, the specialty kambing recipes of Manong Chito and Laling are always a hit.  Thanks for having us over and witnessing this special milestone.  Cheers to another 60 years ahead Manong!

1Jordan Onza Ugalino, graduated at Leilehua High School in Wahiawa last June 2010 as a Summa Cum Laude, 13th highest from  a total 369 graduating seniors. He is the youngest child of Mr and Mrs Candido and Cita Ugalino of Wahiawa, Hawaii.  Candido formerly from San Clemente, Magsingal. and Cita originally from Cagayan. Jordan has two older brothers and two older sisters.

welcome_home_fragariaThe Vgent Group family, led by the Vgent Foundation Inc., gave a rousing welcome for the return to base of the Don Bosco Gasmonta Philippines Football Team after their remarkable stint at the  Fragaria Cup  held in Presov, Slovakia from 3 to 7 July 2010.  The whole delegation, numbering to seventeen, arrived last Saturday afternoon, July 10, 2010, via China Airlines.

alaska1When I saw the sign, Ted Stevens International Airport (over two weeks ago), named after then Alaska’s senior US Senator,  I knew I had landed again at the place that I called home for so many years before.  It was my first time to see the new rebuilt airport after we moved out of Anchorage, seven years ago to Hawaii. The inside of the new airport is so much better than the old one. Spaciously built.  My oldest son Brad and his son (my grandson Kevin) were already there awaiting near the stairs to the baggage area,  both smiling broadly. I was so happy to see them and they were also happy to see me.
